Scheduling

Scheduling warning

If a version is part of the package and the version start date is before the package start date or

or the version release date is after the package release date,

a ⚠ warning is displayed:

...

To fix it click on a version to drag and drop it within package start/release date. Or click on package to amend start/release date to accommodate the version.

Unscheduled versions

All the versions without Start and Release date are considered as “unscheduled“. They are shown on timeline roadmap as small blurred bars for “today“. By clicking on it you can move start/release date and schedule respectively. The changes will be saved automatically.

...

...

The roadmap is split into swimlanes by either packages or projects.

Schedule versions and packages

To schedule any version or the package you need just click on it. The bar will become dark and you will see left and right arrows.

...

If you want to change start or release date click on left-, right- arrow respectively and drag it to the date you need. To move the entire bar drag it to the dates you need and drop.

Move milestones

All intermediate milestones defined for versions and packages that matched start/release dates will be shown automatically on the roadmap. To change them put a mouse over it, the cursor will change. With drag and drop you now can move it to the date you need.

...

Same logic applies to versions/packages with only release date defined that are shown as milestones (diamonds).

Swimlanes

We have flexible configurations of swimlanes. Thus, you can choose from:

Swimlanes by packages

If you select packages for swimlanes we will group all the versions (fix- and virtual-) by the packages they belong too. Remember that one version might belong to multiple packages. All versions without a parent package are grouped into "Versions without package" at the bottom of the roadmap.

Swimlanes by projects

If you select projects for swimlanes we will group all fix-versions by projects (1-to-1 relationship). We will also outline all the virtual versions and all the packages as 2 additional swimlanes at the bottom of the roadmap.

It is possible to View Issues, Edit, Archive or Delete versions and packages on the roadmap from the context menu.

To alter version props user should have administration permission of the respective project in Jira where the version resides. View Issues is allowed with browse project permissions. Search and advanced filtering

Users can search for versions and packages. Thus the roadmap view will be adjusted according to search results as shown in example below:

...

  • Tags to filter by Version/Package tags

  • Archived/Unarchived

  • Columns representing status (or steps in workflow) for versions and packages

  • Versions/Packages toggle.

  • Show milestones toggle.

  • Filter by Environments. Select specific environment or all of the environments of selected type.

Color coding

As you probably noticed we color versions and packages according to your State.

For versions:

  • blue means UNRELEASED (state for fix version in Jira)

  • green stays for RELEASED (state for fix version in Jira)

For packages:

  • blue (aka to-do) stays for 1st column on the board

  • green (aka done) means last column on the board

  • yellow (aka in progress) for everything in between.

Coming soon

  • Export to PDFShow unscheduled

  • Project category

  • Entity type (package, versions, epic, sprint, custom JQL release)

Color coding

Comparing to the board, color coding on the roadmap is much more visible since the entire bar is colored with the color you choose (or the color will be defined automatically)

For details about color coding please navigate to the following section of board settings. Both Automatic and manual options are available.
