Planning Jira issues on Calendar view

PLAN view is used to plan your issues on Calendar. Both Date and DateTime fields are supported. The view could be tailor to Monthly, Weekly or Daily Calendar. For Date fields we suggest Monthly and Weekly view. For DateTime Weekly and Daily seem more appropriate.
Configuration
You need to select Jira issue date/datetime fields to outline issues on the calendar view. To do so click on the “Settings“ icon close to the name of the calendar.
Click on “Plan“ tab.
When you open a dropdown for either Startdate or Enddate you will see all the possible date and datetime fields we extracted from all the issue types comprising the projects you picked up for the calendar. Both standard and custom fields are supported. Also the fields from other Marketplace Partner Apps.
Available fields are split in 2 categories - DATE fields first
and DATE&TIME after
Both Start & End date dropdown are synchronized. Meaning if you pick DATE field in one of them only DATE fields will be available in another one. Same for DATE & TIME.
Navigation
At the top of the calendar you will see a navigation panel.
You can switch switch between Monthly, Weekly and Daily views. In any of the views you can jump into “This Month/Week or Today“ as well as go back and forward using appropriate rows.
Quick filters
To customize the view you can apply a number of quick filters. Once created those will be shared between PLAN view and REPORT view. Last selected filters is also maintained between your sessions.
Quick filter is an additional JQL that will be added to calendar JQL defined.
To create new one click “+“.
Otherwise edit existing.
How the issues are outlined?
On the Monthly view the issues are shown according to their start/end dates.
On weekly and Daily views issues are shown as “all-date“ events if DATE field is selected. If DATE & TIME fields are selected they will be show according to the time set.

Schedule issues
To schedule the issue you need to click on start date/time and drag to end date/time. Issue scheduling dialog will show up. You can do on all the views - Monthly, Weekly and Daily.

You can schedule either existing issue or create a new one.
To schedule existing start typing issue name or key in the input field to select one.
To create new one click on “New Issue“. Standard Jira issue creation dialog will show up. Once you create the issue the App will try to assign the date/time values you selected. In case you create and issue that does not support the custom fields defined we will show an error message
If the create is successful you will see the issue on the calendar
Issue details
Once you put a mouse on top of any issue on calendar view you will see tooltip with brief info that we find essential.
To get more information and/or edit the issue just click on it to open Jira standard issue screen.
