What’s Advanced Edition?
As of Q4, 2024 Atlassian launched and Early Access Program (EAP) for selected Atlassian Marketplace Partners to start offering Apps Editions (Standard and Advanced) to Marketplace Clients. It’s expect that throughout 2025 Apps Editions will become de facto a standard for Atlassian Marketplace allowing partners to segment functionality and pricing for clients and let clients choose the solution that suits them best at a proper cost.
Throughout this documentation all the features that are available for Advanced Edition only are marked as

Any Prerequisites?
Yes, your Jira instance need to be on New Billing Engine to be eligible for ADVANCED EDITION. Atlassian is expecting to migrate all instances to New Billing Engine by early 2025. You can reach out to Atlassian Support and check if you are on New Billing Engine.
We will check it anyway if you decide to join our EAP to let you know. There’s also a chance that your instance will be prioritized to migrate to New Billing Engine if you decide to participate.
How to access in the App?
If you are on ADVANCED EDITION all the premium features will be turned on for you and there is no need to enable something in addition.
If you are on Standard Edition all the premium features will be available as well but when you try to access / use it you will see the following prompt:

ADVANCED EDITION is not yet publicly available.
It’s expected to be publicly available at Atlassian Marketplace at the end of March, 2025.

Let you kick-off a trial for Advanced Edition
How to Upgrade/Downgrade?
Once you complete your trial of Advanced Edition you have 2 choices:
stay on Advanced Edition and move to Advanced Edition pricing
downgrade to Standard and loose access to all premium features
Basically you can Upgrade/Downgrade any time (in conjunction with your billing cycles). More information will be available as soon as Atlassian will make a public release and announcement of Apps Editions.
