Introduction to Advanced Edition
As of Q4, 2024 Atlassian launched and Early Access Program (EAP) for selected Atlassian Marketplace Partners to start offering Apps Editions (Standard and Advanced) to Marketplace Clients. Release Management Apps was among the first to participate and offer Advanced Editions for early access clients.
As of Q2, 2025 Apps Editions became de facto a standard for Atlassian Marketplace allowing partners to segment functionality and pricing for clients and let clients choose the solution that suits them best at a proper cost.
Throughout this documentation all the features that are available for Advanced Edition only are marked as ADVANCED EDITION.
Hosting Options
Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC) is Advanced Edition by default
Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC) is an Enterprise grade platform. Therefore, Release Management for AGC is Advanced Edition by default and all AGC client will be receiving all new standard and advanced features seamlessly.
Isolated Cloud (AGC) will be Advanced Edition by default

How to access in the App?
If you are on ADVANCED EDITION all the premium features will be turned on for you and there is no need to enable something in addition.
If you are on Standard Edition all the premium features will be available as well but when you try to access / use it you will see the following prompt:
