Overview
Roadmap tab is the timeline view for all items residing the plan, namely Releases (Versions), Epics, Sprints and JQL Releases. Also the main tab of the App showing all the items based on their Start/End dates.
Items with the End date only and no Start date are shown as Milestones.
In addition to items overview on the roadmap you can:

add new and edit existing items
search roadmap by item name and/or use set of predefined filters
If you define Intermediate Milestones for your roadmap items they will be also shown on Roadmap with ability to move forward/backward using drag & drop.

Unscheduled items
If you can’t find your item on the roadmap it might be unscheduled - missing Start & End dates. To bring them it and potentially schedule use “Show unscheduled“ toggle on the menu ribbon.
Once you toggle it all unscheduled items will show up on roadmap with blurred Start/End date pointing to Today.
Read the following section to learn how to schedule it.
How to schedule?
To amend Start or End Date of the roadmap item there are couple of options. To start any actions on item you need to click on it. The bar will become dark plus you will see arrows at start date and end date.
From that moment you can
either move start date to change it
move end date to change it
or move a complete bar to change both
All the change to start and end dates will be applied automatically so there’s no need to commit anything.
Move milestone
To move a milestone you need to put a mouse on it. The cursor will change indicating you can move left-right.
Drag and drop it at the date you want to amend.

We have flexible configurations of swimlanes. Thus, you can choose from:

Clicking on “Edit“ or “View Issues“ will open up Items details screen: - Summary and Issues tabs respectively.
In addition to right-click menu you can can do it with left click:) - If you have right zoom settings and your roadmap bar is big enough you will see “pencil“ icon once you put a mouse on it. My clicking on the “pencil icon“ you will open same Items details screen.
For smaller bars and milestones (items with only End date defined) you would still need to use right click. It’s just not enough room for “pencil icon”
