"Release Management" Panel for Jira issues

With the latest App release (1.4.60) we delivered “Release Management“ panel for Jira issues. We have been inspired a lot by “Structure“ panel so if you use the later you should re right at home with our new functionality.

The idea of the panel is to show on which release boards specific issue resides, in which versions/packages included and to which environments deployed along side specific version/build number.

How to enable?

To open the panel click on “…“ button in issue view dialog to select “Release Management“.

You will be navigated to “Release Management“ panel that will be expanded by default.

To collapse click on “Collapse“ link.

How to use?

On the panel you will find a list of all the release boards you can access.

To update the information on the panel you can click on “Refresh“ button.

“Release/Package“ section

“Release/Package“ section of the panel outlines all the versions the issue belongs to. If the version is included in one of the packages .. packages will be outlined either.

'issue belongs to' means:

  • FixVersion for Versions/Releases

  • Epic for Epic-based Virtual Versions

  • Sprint for Sprint-based Virtual Versions

  • “JQL filter“ for JQL-based Virtual Versions

The information depicted includes:

  • Start date

  • Release date

  • Progress bar

  • Deep Link to the version/package on the selected board.

Upon click on the link you will be navigated to selected board and respective release /package dialog to pop-up.

“Environment“ section

“Environment“ section of the panel outlines all the Environments to which respected versions are deployed.

The information depicted includes:

  • Environment Name

  • Type of Environment

  • Versions deployed

  • Build # of deployed version

  • Deep Link to the environment on the selected board.

Upon click on the link you will be navigated to selected board and respective release /package dialog to pop-up.
